OUR VIEWS:
I agree with Chopra Ji's comment. But question is who will "SHOW URGENCY OF PURPOSE, CONCENTRATE on POLITICIANS"......a common member of the ICAI or the elected representatives of these common members, in the highest body of ICAI i.e.Central Council, called CC members.
AS a common member we have concern towards NFRA and we are appealing to our elected representatives, to take up the matter by making calls to them, by sending SMS, and by way of writing mails. Even we are using social media for that purpose. A common member can join them in protest call, make them aware of the political links......but initiative/remedial action shall be taken from the top.
If as a common member.we approach an MP and he asks us who are you and why not your ICAI President/VP, came to us ,what we will reply...............
NO DOUBT TASK IS DIFFICULT BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE.....NEED OF THE HOUR IS COMMITMENT OF THE CC MEMBERS TOWARDS THE PROFESSION,FIRM DETERMINATION AND WILL POWER TO ACT...............

PLEASE MAKE MORE AND MORE MAILS, SMS, EMAILS TO OUR ELECTED REPRESNTATIVES TO MAKE THEM SERIOUS TOWARDS NFRA.....EVERY POLITICIAN HAS A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT....WHERE IS THE PROBLEM IN MUSTERING POLITICAL SUPPORT.............ONLY THING IS FIRMNESS, DETERMINATION AND WILLING POWER...............

Subject: NFRA –CAUSE OF GRAVE CONCERN. REQUEST TO GIVE MEMORANDUM/PROPER ACTION TO SAFEGAURD ICAI INTEREST
Dear Sir,
As you might be aware new Companies Bill, which has been tabled in the Parliament contains clause of creating "National Financial Reporting Authority(NFRA) for usurp the two big powers of ICAI (a) to set accounting standards and (b) take disciplinary action against its 200,000 members.
We request you to kindly accord top priority to the matter and make representation to the President of ICAI, on behalf of the Branch, for discrimination of the Government against the members of ICAI. Why such a watchdog only for ICAI and not for other professional bodies like MCI(Medical Council of India), Bar Council of India , ICSI and against Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
Once the powers goes to NFRA, it will become an oversight body with quasi-judicial powers and supersede ICAI. Any decision taken by ICAI can be reversed /cancelled or advanced by NFRA.
Every ICAI member will be vulnerable to be charged/ prosecuted by NFRA on complaints made a common person or corporate entity. Anything that goes into reporting of financial statements, this body will oversee the quality, the kind of work they are doing and any complaints... NFRA can even debar them
Please make appropriate representation to the President/Vice President/CC/RC members of ICAI to safeguard the ICAI interest.
WRITE MAILS, SEND SMS....WRITE ON SOCIAL MEDIA....DO WHAT EVER U CAN DO............
