COUNTNG UPDATE

Dear all,

The counting of votes for election to the twenty third Council and twenty second Regional Councils will commence from 20th December, 2015. 

The venue for the Counting will be Institute's premises at ICAI Bhawan, A-29, Sector 62, NOIDA – 201 309. 

The counting will start at 10.00 A.M. on each day and will continue till 5.30 P.M. or even beyond that time so that the entire process of counting of votes is completed.

As usual, the counting will begin with CC & RC (WIRC)

Based on past experience; on 20th and 21st the exercise of opening of postal ballots and opening of booth wise ballot boxes will be done. The booth-wise ballots will tallied and declared during first 2 days of counting. 

Thereafter, the invalid ballots will be separated and consent of all representative present will be taken. Thereafter, total valid votes for RC & CC and respective quota will be declared.  

Then the 1st preferences/ ballots will be distributed among the contesting candidates. This is the most interesting stage during the entire counting process. The result of 1st count gives the broad idea about the future RC/CC.  

In my view; If the Returning officer decide to work for late night then only it is possible to declare the first round by 21st. late night. Else, the results of first round will be out on 22nd.
